Husniya al-Amin is an older woman who has served as the Calligrapher for a decade, and before that as the Calligrapher’s apprentice. A conservative woman, she does not get herself very involved in the politics of court aside from the occasional sniping at what she sees as the foolish youthful disregard for tradition that the current Caliph and Sultan seem to revel in. Husniya is trained in the arts of a Sahir, having once been a Qabalist before leaving that organization. Her access to the Royal Library has only assisted her magical prowess, as she has access to magical knowledge unknown even to the Qabal.
Husniya is a private woman, not discussing much of her life before coming to the Palace. There is a certain melancholy in her eyes whenever the subject of her late husband comes up however that is hard to not notice. Rumor has it that upon being assigned to the Royal Library, she has undertaken a massive reorganization effort and has read deeply into medical theories and practices however.
